Professional Teeth Whitening in Newark NJ

Several shades brighter in a single visit — or whiten gradually at home with custom trays. Both options are safer and more effective than drugstore kits.

Teeth whitening treatment at Allstate Dental Newark

Why professional whitening?

Coffee, tea, wine, smoking, and just getting older all stain your enamel. Drugstore whitening strips work, but slowly and unevenly — and the bleaching gel can irritate your gums if it leaks. Professional whitening uses stronger, medical-grade gel applied with custom-fit trays or directly by Dr. Luba, so you get faster, more even, longer-lasting results.

Your options at Allstate Dental

  • In-office whitening (90 min) — Dr. Luba protects your gums, applies professional-strength hydrogen peroxide gel, and activates it with a special light. Most patients see 5–8 shades brighter in one visit.
  • Custom take-home trays (2 weeks) — Dr. Luba makes impressions of your teeth and fabricates thin, custom trays. You wear them with whitening gel for 30–60 minutes a day for about 2 weeks. More gradual but very natural-looking results.
  • Combo package — in-office jump-start, then take-home trays for finishing touches and touch-ups. The best of both worlds.

What to expect (in-office)

Prep (10 min): Your teeth are cleaned and a protective barrier is placed on your gums and lips.

Whitening (60 min): The gel is applied in three 20-minute rounds, with the light activating each round. You'll relax and listen to music or watch something on our overhead TV.

Finishing (10 min): Gel removed, barrier taken off, a fluoride treatment to reduce sensitivity, and your before/after photos so you can see just how much brighter you are.

Sensitivity: Some patients experience mild cold sensitivity for 24–48 hours after whitening. We include a desensitizing gel in your aftercare kit, and it goes away quickly.

Cost

Whitening is cosmetic — most insurance doesn't cover it, but our fees are very reasonable: $395 for in-office whitening, $295 for custom take-home trays (both arches), or $595 for the combo package. Includes your aftercare kit and any sensitivity gel you might need.

Whitening doesn't work on:

  • Crowns, veneers, or fillings (they'll need to be replaced to match)
  • Tetracycline-stained teeth (we can discuss alternatives)
  • Teeth with internal stains from old root canals (we have options for those too)
