What is a dental bridge?
A bridge is a fixed (non-removable) restoration that "bridges" the gap left by one or more missing teeth. It's anchored to the teeth on either side of the gap (or to dental implants) and looks like a row of natural teeth — no one can tell you're missing anything.
Your bridge options
- Traditional bridge — crowns on the teeth on either side of the gap, with a false tooth (pontic) attached between them. Most common option.
- Cantilever bridge — used when there's only one tooth next to the gap (less common, more conservative).
- Maryland bridge — a metal or porcelain "wing" bonded to the back of an adjacent tooth. Used for front teeth, very conservative, but not as strong.
- Implant-supported bridge — instead of crowns on natural teeth, the bridge is anchored to dental implants. Best for replacing 2–3 adjacent missing teeth without affecting healthy neighbors.
When a bridge is right for you

- You want a non-removable solution (vs a partial denture)
- The teeth on either side of the gap need crowns anyway
- You can't or don't want implant surgery
- You want to preserve the bone and prevent neighboring teeth from shifting
What to expect
Visit 1 — Preparation (60 min): The anchor teeth are shaped for crowns, and we take impressions or digital scans. You'll leave with a temporary bridge so the gap isn't visible.
Visit 2 — Placement (45 min, 2–3 weeks later): Your custom bridge is tried in, adjusted for perfect fit and bite, then permanently cemented. You'll walk out chewing normally.
